The High Street frontage rests at the intersection of the Great Western Highway and High Street, a gateway to the Penrith CBD.
Authorities recognised the significance of this site, so a stringent list of requirements were enforced to ensure residents and guests maintained a sufficient level of visual and acoustic privacy.
We created a solid 'podium' on level one to break up the scale of the building, adding a number of floating white boxes with privacy screens above to bring some lightness to the somewhat heavy material choices.
The palate was kept neutral with hints of copper screening to liven it up. Landscaping along the front setback, when grown to mature height, will create the desired transition between the busy street and residential living.
