The need for Boarding House development has increased dramatically over the past 10 years given the ever-increasing population boom in Sydney and supply shortage of affordable accommodation. Located within walking distance of Parramatta train station, the second key business hub of Sydney, this was a fantastic opportunity to design a development, alongside Boss Design, with excellent amenity, outlook and affordability that was unique to the area.
Taking advantage of the uninterrupted views across the park opposite, we located both an indoor and rooftop communal area at the North end of the site which is drenched in natural daylight. The kitchen facility, lounge and BBQ area will provide great amenity for the residents. The predominantly brick buildings which surround the site drove the facade design, along with some added warmth of timber and clever metal profile detailing for the balcony spaces.
