The main idea is to colonize the corner of Lethbridge and Doonmore streets with a significant building that bets on an architecture that respects its environment. The building naturally follows the slope of Lethbridge Street creating a stepped volume that attempts to give movement to the facade.
The heaviness of the lower balconies contrasts with the lightness of the building roof. This exercise reduces the scale of the building and minimizes the transition from ground to sky, on the other hand, the horizontality of the roofs bring dynamism to the project. This movement or dynamism reduces the bulky appearance and breaks with the idea of a heavy box that is repeated in many residential buildings.
We use earthy colours, brick and white with the idea of giving it a natural look and escaping of any artificial prominence on the street. We believe that the location of the building on this corner already gives it a great sense of urban character and does not need any artificial elements.
The sculptural balconies and their modulation give a sensation of unique space to each apartment, increase the feeling of ownership over part of the façade and ensure that each owner can fully enjoy their balcony.
Similarly, we wrap the corner with those balconies creating an open corner that will provide with a great feeling of spaciousness to the people who enjoy these units.
We believe that 72 Lethbridge will definitely bring a lot of character to the city.
